Are you sure it's an agency? Do they have an employment agency license for each state where they have an office/address?

Yes, the onesourcetalent.com website or company is by people whose background is leadership at franchises for the Wilhelmina Scouting Network scam, a web-based advertising service, the biggest modeling scam in American history, subject of constant complaints--over 2,000 at the Florida Attorney General's office alone--and about 900 at the Orlando Better Business Bureau.)

They not only scammed models into paying $1,000 to put their picture on the WSN website, they also scammed sales people whom they called "model scouts." They used to run 1,500 job ads on Monster.com before Monster pulled them all following a Newsweek investigation.

The scam was making job-seekers believe they would make all kinds of money if they only worked for 90 days, but they fired everyone before the 90 days were up, so they didn't get paid and/or didn't stick around to earn a salary. It was all on commissions. They talked about "career" and a ton of lies--the BBB asked them to substantiate their job ads--but they couldn't.

OST ran a similar ad on craigslist in November:

One Source Talent Challenging the Entertainment Industry!

(http://detroit.craigslist.org/mar/48000950.html) [Dec. 6, 2004]

You click on that link it took you to their site page which said:

Since our first day of operation, our talent and staff have turned to One Source Talent for value, integrity [VALUE?! PROOF? INTEGRITY? WTF?!] and the best chance for success [OR GIVE AWAY YOUR MONEY]. Recognized as the undisputed authority in the growing online entertainment-marketing concept [RECOGNIZED BY WHOM?!], at One Source Talent we believe that our employees are a company's best asset.

One Source Talent, the leader in bringing together different facets of the entertainment world into one place, is looking for qualified leaders of tomorrow for our company.

We are seeking marketing representatives [THE WSN JOB ADS ONCE USED THE MONSTER.COM CATEGORY OF MARKETING REPS] to recruit potential talent looking to break into the entertainment industry. Candidates should have the following qualifications: strong speaking skills, outgoing personalities, be self-motivated with the ability to work independently & achieve pre-set goals, and have dependable transportation. Experience in the areas of sales, marketing, public relations, or public speaking is a plus. [BUT NOT MODELING. EXPLAIN THAT!]

We are also looking for marketing representatives to offer a package of different services we offer to local companies and organizations.

With fives offices throughout the united states we are planning on opening additional offices in the coming year. Opportunities for advancement are endless [SOUNDS LIKE THE "DREAM JOB" B.S OF WSN!]. If being part of a fast-paced, fun environment is something you are looking for, please feel free to fill out our online application and good luck. If we are interested in working with you we will contact you within 3-5 business days to schedule an interview.

The WSN/TCT (it was called Trans Continental Talent before it was Wilhelmina Scouting Network) form scam was to make you think they were selecting you or screening you, when the reality was they accepted virtually everyone. One time a reporter put the name of her dog into the online application and the dog got the job. LOL!

Ruth to the Rescue put TCT's recruiting practices to the test. The undercover producer filled out a TCT scout application online. Within hours, he received a letter from the TCT telling him that he would be a tremendous asset to the company. He has never scouted or worked in the entertainment business, but that doesn't bother TCT, the station reported. A Local 4 photographer and a volunteer also signed on, and received the same letter. Ruth also signed up her 10-year-old dog, Lochie Spencer, who also received the same e-mail. (http://www.clickondetroit.com/money/1789200/detail.html

(Funny how Local 4 is in Detroit and OST has an office in Detroit.)

WSN was also scamming the IRS--it was a tax evasion scam--they classified the workers on whom they were dependent as independent contractors, instead of employees, which was totally illegal--so the IRS didn't get paid.

OST, according to the San Diego BBB, is involved in managing talent: "This company offers model management and placement in the industry of models and actors." (http://www.sandiego.bbb.org/commonreport.html?compid=1069916) [Dec. 7. 2004]. There are strict talent laws in California, including the Advance Fee Talent Service (AFTS) law, and a new one signed by Arnold, either of which could make OST illegal. Check with an entertainment lawyer before you pay a cent.

I have received emails from both of these companies, during the same week, Onesourcetalent & Impact WW.  Onesource wants me to be a talent scout, and Impactww wants me to be a Talent Manager.   I received the same pre-generated letter as someone else who wrote into you, saying that their assistant or whomever found my resume.   I had my suspicions about these jobs, given that I can not make human contact with them at all.    Or when I ask a question which doesn't have a pre-generated answer, I get to response email.   Now, I for sure it is a scam.   Thanks.
