Red Alert Models
This company, according to a consumer, acts like a modeling agency. However, it does not have a talent agency license, according to the state website database.
http://www.dir.ca.gov/databases/dlselr/Talag.html [Sept. 9, 2004].
(Licensed agencies in California are not allowed to charge models for photography; they are not even allowed to collect fees for photography. See Labor Code 1700.)
Furthermore, it has been reported Red Alert Models tries to sell photography. Experts, however, advise not to buy professional photography until getting representation by a licensed modeling agency. Since Red Alert Models is not a licensed modeling agency, you should not pay them for professional photography. Photography should be done under the guidance of a licensed agent responsible for models and only rewarded after they receive paying work.
The comments on another website make Red Alert Models sound like a photo mill: http://www.wolfesden.net/index.cgi/noframes/read/109582 [Sept. 9, 2004].
